North Wales, Pa. – November 18, 2019 – Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery/Bucks) would like to call attention to the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s recent notice of requests for applications under the Pennsylvania Primary Care Loan Repayment Program.

The Pennsylvania Primary Care Loan Repayment Program (LRP) provides loan repayment to primary care practitioners – including physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, therapists and dental hygienists – in exchange for a two-year (full-time or half-time) commitment serving in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) or at a practice serving a minimum of 30% low-income patients.

“I encourage all of our local health professionals to investigate this opportunity. Pennsylvanians, including those of us in health fields, have some of the highest student loan debts in the country,” said Senator Collett. “The program promotes access to health care to underserved populations – including in Bucks and Montgomery Counties – and encourages the retention and recruitment of talented practitioners.”

Applications for the program will be accepted from November 5, 2019 to December 17, 2019 at 11:59pm. All applications must be submitted online.
