Senator Collett, State Reps Celebrate $5.8 Million for Public Safety & Infrastructure Projects Across Montgomery County

Fort Washington, PA – Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery, Caucus Chair) has announced $5,847,809 in Local Share Account (LSA) and Act 13 grant awards for 23 infrastructure projects across the 12th Senatorial District in Montgomery County, PA.

“When we invest in key infrastructure projects like these, we’re investing in a safer, healthier future where all of us can thrive,” Collett said. “I was proud to work alongside state and local partners to secure this funding and ensure our roadways are intact, our utility systems are repaired, and our first responders have the resources they need to protect our communities.”

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Melissa Cerrato – $2,175,870 Total:

LSA Grants:

  • Horsham Township – $116,823 to purchase police department electronic control devices.
  • Horsham Water & Sewer Authority – $300,000 to replace a section of water main in the Well 20 Area.
  • Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $250,000 to install a new fire suppression system at the Family Promise Montco, PA facility located in Ambler Borough.
  • Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $859,047 to renovate the Mitzvah Circle building.
  • Montgomery Township Municipal Sewer Authority – $300,000 for the re-insulation of Tank B at the Eureka Wastewater Treatment Plan in Montgomery Township.

“I am excited to see so much funding come back to every corner of our community,” said Cerrato (D-151). “I am especially proud to see extra funding go to Mitzvah Circle after their devastating fire. Our community came together after that tragedy to support our neighbors, and I am glad to bring further support to them with state funds.”

  • In partnership with Rep. Ben Sanchez & Rep. Cerrato: Upper Dublin Township Municipal Authority – $350,000 for the construction of the Dreshertown Road Cross County Trail Extension.

“Investments like this help create safer, healthier, and more connected communities,” Sanchez (D-153) said. “This project highlights the value of collaboration between local, county, and state partners. I’m very proud to be a part of this partnership.”

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Steve Malagari – $1,592,328 Total:

LSA Grants:

  • Hatfield Township – $117,328 for improvements to the Colmar Volunteer Fire Company fire house.
  • Hatfield Township Municipal Authority – $225,000 to purchase new blowers for its wastewater treatment plant.
  • Lansdale Borough – $250,000 for the replacement of the Franklin Street pump station.
  • Lansdale Borough – $250,000 for storm tunnel repairs to two tunnels/concrete box culverts.
  • Lansdale Borough – $200,000 for roadway and infrastructure improvements to Salford, Derstine and Mitchell Avenues.
  • North Penn Water Authority – $200,000 for the Derstine Avenue Water Main Replacement project located in Lansdale Borough.
  • Souderton Borough – $100,000 for the Volunteer Medical Service Corps to purchase EMS equipment.
  • Souderton Borough – $250,000 to make upgrades to the wastewater treatment plant located in Franconia Township.

Rep. Malagari (D-53) said: “I am so pleased to have played a part in bringing these funds into our district. The projects they help fund will directly improve the daily lives of residents by helping to provide safer communities, cleaner water and better roads.” 

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Liz Hanbidge – $850,000 Total:

LSA Grants:

  • Lower Gwynedd Township – $750,000 for the construction of a new public works facility.
  • In partnership with Rep. Matt Bradford & Rep. Hanbidge: Whitpain Township – $100,000 to construct a new community center.

“I’m proud of the funding that we collaborated to secure for our districts to support critical infrastructure, public services, and community projects,” said Hanbidge (D-61). “These funds will help our municipalities invest in facilities that serve residents every day. This is a meaningful investment in the safety, and quality of life of our communities.”

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Nancy Guenst – $693,920 Total:

LSA Grants:

  • Lower Moreland Township – $250,000 to acquire land to build a new municipal building.
  • Upper Moreland Township – $380,920 to purchase and install an access control system and a camera system at the new police department building.

Act 13 Grants:

  • Upper Moreland Township – $63,000 for Woodlawn Park Phase 1 Improvements.

“This funding will directly support essential services that our community members rely on every day,” said Guenst (D-152). “By strengthening public facilities and planning for future needs, these projects reflect people-centered investments that I was proud to advocate for with my partners at the state and local level.”

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Matt Bradford – $505,691 Total:

LSA Grants:

  • Montgomery County Redevelopment Authority – $100,000 for improvements to the All-Abilities Community Gym at Variety, the Children’s Charity of Delaware Valley.
  • Worcester Township – $353,691 for maintenance and upgrades at the Worcester Volunteer Fire Department.

Act 13 Grants:

  • Variety, the Children’s Charity of the Delaware Valley – $52,000 for the community accessible playground.

Grant Awards Secured by Sen. Collett & Rep. Greg Scott – $30,000 Total:

Act 13 Grants:

  • Plymouth Township – $30,000 for Cardinal View Stormwater Basin Improvements

“I’m proud to see this investment in maintaining critical local infrastructure for the benefit of all of our communities,” said Scott (D-54). “This grant supports the foundational necessities for keeping our communities safe and thriving.”
