Fort Washington, PA − February 10, 2026 − Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery, Caucus Chair) announced $808,900 in Automated Red Light Enforcement (ARLE) grant funding to improve pedestrian and traffic safety in her district.
“Investing in local roads and infrastructure makes our communities safer, more walkable and better connected,” Senator Collett said. “I was proud to work alongside my colleagues in the house to support key projects strengthening travel and accessibility across the 12th District.”
Lansdale Borough will receive $308,900 to improve pedestrian and vehicular mobility at six signalized intersections, including upgrading current push buttons, installing LED countdown pedestrian heads, and ADA curb ramp upgrades. The six improvement intersections are: Broad Street and Whites Road; Broad Street and Hancock Street; Broad Street and Vine Street; Broad Street and Seventh Street; Line Street and Seventh Street; and Lansdale Avenue and 7th Street.
“Anyone who drives or walks through Lansdale knows how busy these intersections can get, especially during rush hour and when students are heading to and from school,” Rep. Steve Malagari (D-53) said. “This is about using smart technology to make our streets safer for both drivers and pedestrians, including Lansdale Catholic students who rely on these crossings every school day.”
Upper Dublin Township Municipal Authority has been awarded $500,000 to extend the Cross County Trail along Virginia Drive and Dreshertown Road and widen the road from Susquehanna Road to the Beacon Hill Road/Bantry Drive signalized intersection.
“This money will make it easier for our neighbors in Upper Dublin to get where they need to,” said Rep. Melissa Cerrato (D-151). “I look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition, and I’m thankful to Senator Collett for her collaboration on securing this funding.”
PennDOT’s ARLE program aims to make signalized intersections safer by providing automated enforcement methods. Today, the agency announced $27 million to support 51 safety projects across 44 municipalities statewide.
