NORTH WALES, PA. – 10월 4, 2019 – Senator Maria Collett (D-Montgomery/Bucks) announced today that $560,000 in grant funds have been awarded to improve traffic safety in Montgomery Township and Upper Moreland Township through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) “Green Light-Go” program.
“These grants will improve traffic safety and efficiency for both drivers and pedestrians as they travel through some of the busiest parts of our district,” said Senator Collett. “I commend our municipalities for their commitment to public safety and thank the Commonwealth for acknowledging their fine work.”
Montgomery Township has been awarded $400,206 to modernize four traffic signals on Bethlehem Pike Montgomery Mall entrances and the intersections of Bethlehem Pike/North Wales Road and Horsham Road/Pleasant Run.
Upper Moreland Township will receive $160,000 for upgrading traffic signals at Davisville Road and Easton Road to improve safety at the at-grade SEPTA rail crossing.
Green Light-Go grants provide reimbursement funds for the operation and maintenance of traffic signals along critical state highways. The program facilitates the modernization of existing traffic signals, improving safety and mobility by reducing congestion and improving efficiency.
