NORTH WALES, PA. – सितंबर 17, 2019 – Senator Maria Collett (D-Montgomery/Bucks) announced today that $250,000 in grant funds have been awarded to support watershed restoration and protection and the development of greenways, trails and recreation in Montgomery County.

Through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s (CFA) Watershed Restoration and Protection program, Horsham Township received $180,000 towards improvements to the Witmer Road Stormwater Detention Basin.

Through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation program, Montgomery Township was granted $70,000 towards their Friendship Park Renovation project.

“The quality of our local infrastructure and recreation is critical to the continued vitality of our communities,” said Senator Collett. “Funding for projects like these will ensure that our municipalities remain attractive places to raise families, do business, and enjoy retirement.”

The CFA is an independent agency of the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) responsible for administering Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages, including Act 13 programs. Act 13 awards statewide initiatives for abandoned mine drainage abatement; abandoned well plugging; sewage treatment; greenways, trails and recreation; baseline water quality data; watershed restoration; and flood control.
