North Wales, Pa. – Enero 15, 2020 — Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery/Bucks) announced that the new Non-Profit Security Grant Program is now accepting applications. The application period ends at 11:45 PM on Febrero 14, 2020.

Passed in the wake of a rise in hate crimes and attacks on houses of worship, the Non-Profit Security Grant Program is open to nonprofit organizations that principally serve individuals, groups, or institutions that are included within one of the FBI’s bias motivation categories for single bias hate crime incidents. This includes race/ethnicity/ancestry, religion, sexual orientation, disability, gender, and gender identity.

“Nothing is more important to me than the peace and safety of those who live, work, worship, and serve the community in the district I represent,” said Senator Collett. “These grants will allow nonprofits to invest in the technology and training they need to protect their community.”

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) will administer up to $5 million to nonprofits across the Commonwealth in grant awards ranging from $5,000 to $150,000. Applicants requesting more than $25,000 must provide a percentage of non-state financial support.

To learn more about the program and apply, visit the PCCD website. Senator Collett’s office is happy to assist organizations in her district that are interested in applying.
