North Wales, Pa. – Febrero 26, 2020 — Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery/Bucks) has announced $765,437 in Competitive and Meritorious School Safety Grants and $598,200 in Community Violence Prevention/Reduction Grants awarded by Pennsylvania’s School Safety and Security Committee.
“These grants will allow our schools to take a more comprehensive, thoughtful approach to school safety,” said Senator Collett. “From supporting school resource officers and school psychologists to expanding violence prevention curriculum and trauma-informed services, this funding will help set our students up for success.”
Competitive and Meritorious School Safety & Security Grant recipients in the 12th District include:
- Centennial School District – $45,000
- Central Bucks School District – $45,000
- Hatboro-Horsham School District – $45,000
- Lower Moreland School District – $40,000
- North Penn School District – $45,000
- Souderton Area School District – $460,437*
- Upper Moreland School District – $40,000
- Wissahickon School District – $45,000
*Meritorious and competitive grants awarded.
Community Violence Prevention/Reduction Grant recipients serving the 12th District include:
- Child Advocacy Center of Montgomery County – $300,000
- Family Services of Montgomery County – $298,200
The School Safety and Security Committee works within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD). The Committee received 970 applications from across the Commonwealth, and 524 were approved for $53,710,485 in school safety grants. $7.5 million was available for Community Violence Prevention/Reduction Grants. Out of 63 applicants, 30 were awarded a total of $7,547,747.
