North Wales, Pa. — Noviembre 13, 2019 — Senator Maria Collett (D-12 Montgomery/Bucks) has announced over $1,000,000 in grant funding for local projects awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

The DCED grant recipients in Senator Collett’s district include:

  • Hatboro Borough – $274,056 for intersection improvements on York Road.
  • Warrington Township – $223,632 for a safety improvement project establishing direct access to State Route 611.

“Investments in our local infrastructure are investments in community safety and sustainability,” said Senator Collett. “These grants will improve traffic safety on major roads in our district and facilitate the integration of the new Willow Grove YMCA.”

The grants were awarded through the DCED’s Multimodal Transportation Fund. The program promotes safe, reliable transportation and economic development in Pennsylvania.

The DCNR grant recipients in Senator Collett’s district include:

  • Warrington Township – $188,360. The grant will allow the Lions Pride Park project to restore wetlands, construct a boardwalk and observation platform, build pedestrian paths, landscape, ensure ADA accessibility, and more.
  • Upper Gwynedd Township – $15,000. Funds will be used to prepare a study on the development of the Power Line Trail, which would stretch about 6 miles from Morris Road to Welsh Road.

“Recreational opportunities are a key part of what makes the 12th District such a wonderful place to live, work and play,” said Senator Collett. “I’m excited to see these opportunities grow with projects that promote environmental stewardship, exercise and inclusion.”

The grants are distributed through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) as a part of their Community Conservation Program.
