On Abril 7th, 2022, Senators Muth, Cappelletti, Schwank, Collett, Hughes, and Santarsiero will host a hearing on the movement against sexual assault on college campus and the Governor’s It’s On Us package of bills designed to address this issue.

La campaña It's On Us es una iniciativa nacional puesta en marcha por la Administración Obama para concienciar sobre las agresiones sexuales, enseñando a los participantes que la agresión incluye el sexo no consentido, aconsejándoles sobre cómo identificar situaciones peligrosas, capacitándoles para intervenir e instándoles a crear un entorno de apoyo a las víctimas y supervivientes. 

This hearing is meant to highlight the need for Pennsylvania to pass the “It’s On Us” legislative package, which consist of four bills that are the next steps to preventing assault on campus and ensuring victims get the help they deserve. If passed, the senate package, which includes SB 730, SB 909, and SB 785, will enact a ‘yes means yes’ law, will strengthen protections for victims of on-campus crime, and will teach middle and high school students to know and prevent dating violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment and stalking. Additionally, SR 122, included in the package, creates a task force to study sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence and stalking. This hearing will highlight the issues these bills cover and offer diverse perspectives to give lawmakers a statewide picture of where our efforts are when it comes to ending sexual assault and dating violence on campuses in Pennsylvania.
