Fort Washington, PA − August 4, 2026 − Senator Maria Collett, along with Representatives Steve Malagari, Melissa Cerrato, Liz Hanbidge and Nancy Guenst, have announced $1,627,102 in grant funding to improve traffic safety and efficiency in their districts through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT’s) Green Light-Go program.
“Modernizing local roads and infrastructure makes our neighborhoods safer, more walkable and better connected – all while boosting our economy,” Senator Collett (D-12, Caucus Chair) said. “I was proud to help secure this funding alongside my House colleagues, and I look forward to continuing to work with our municipalities to ensure vital projects like these are prioritized.”
$719,840 FOR LANSDALE BOROUGH
- Lansdale Borough: $132,640 for traffic signal modernization at the intersection of Broad Street and Vine Street.
- Lansdale Borough: $587,200 for traffic signal upgrades at the signalized intersections listed below:
- Main Street and:
- Franconia Avenue/Valley Forge Road.
- Cannon Avenue.
- Wood Street.
- Broad Street.
- Church Rd/Lansdale Avenue.
- Welsh Road and:
- Oak Boulevard/Oak Lane/Squirrel Lane.
- North Wales Road.
- Cannon Avenue and 7th Street.
- 7th Street and Maple Avenue.
- Church Street and Hancock Street.
- Church Road and Pennbrook Parkway.
- Main Street and:
“Our roads play a critical role in helping us all get around. When our intersections are designed well, they keep traffic moving smoothly while keeping all road users safe,” said Rep. Steve Malagari (D-53). “That’s why I’m proud that Senator Collett and I were able to secure over $1,000,000 in state funding to modernize intersections in Lansdale Borough and Montgomery Township. This investment updates and modernizes traffic signals, improving traffic flow and enhancing safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike. $327,195 FOR MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP
- Montgomery Township: $327,195 for upgrade and installation of modernized equipment at the intersection of Cowpath Road and Taylor Road/Lansdale Avenue.
“This grant will provide Montgomery Township with a great opportunity to improve pedestrian and driver safety,” said Rep. Melissa Cerrato (D-151). “Now, the intersection along Cowpath Road will be safer for all of us to traverse, whether that be by road or crosswalk. I am thankful to Senator Collett for the work we have done to secure this funding, and I look forward to seeing this investment come to our community.”
$311,760 FOR LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP
- Lower Gwynedd Township: $311,760 for traffic signal modernization at the intersection of Bethlehem Pike and Tennis Avenue.
“Investments in transportation infrastructure are investments in public safety,” said Rep. Liz Hanbidge (D-61). “This project will help reduce congestion and make travel safer for drivers. I’m grateful to see state funding supporting practical improvements that will benefit residents of Lower Gwynedd for years to come.”
$268,307 FOR LOWER MORELAND TOWNSHIP
- Lower Moreland Township: $268,307.20 to complete a full modernization of the traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Welsh Road and Pine Road.
“Modernizing the traffic signal at Welsh Road and Pine Road will make this a safer corridor for everyone traveling through it,” said Rep. Nancy Guenst (D-152). “I am proud to work with Senator Collett to secure state funding like this that helps keep people moving safely and efficiently in Montgomery County.”
